Carla Ramos García
A Few Words About Me
Carla loves two special moments when she teaches Biblical Hebrew. The first moment is in the first lesson, because there is some nervousness. The students start with Aleph, the first letter, and see the end of the course as a distant goal. The second special moment is in the last lesson, when the year ends and everyone looks back at the first moment, realizing all of the knowledge that they have gained together. “Teaching is not about speeches, teaching is about dialogues. I am always learning from my students, and that is what I love the most.”
Education
Carla holds BA degrees in History, Arabic Philology, and Hebrew Philology from the University of Salamanca, in Spain, as well as an MA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from the same institution. She is currently working on her Ph.D in Portuguese and Spanish Conversos from Judaism during the Early Modern Period.
Professional Experience
Carla has been working as a Biblical Hebrew teacher at the Israel Institute of Biblical Studies since 2012, and tries to create a nice and friendly atmosphere in her classes, which include students all over the world, while sharing knowledge and ideas.
