Directed by Ari Folman, the man behind the Oscar-nominated animated film Waltz with Bashir, “Where is Ann Frank?” comes to tell us the story of Ann Frank, and her famous diary, from a whole new perspective.

2. Legends of destruction

Legends of Destruction is based on Talmudic stories and beliefs about the destruction of the second temple. Gidi Dar, the director and screenplay writer, took Flavius Josephus to the next level. Everything on an animated film and with the collaboration of the painters David Polonsky and Michael Faust.

3. Ahed’s knee

Nadav Lapid, a director and screenplay writer originally from Tel Aviv, shows us a memorable story about a filmmaker. To exhibit one of his films, this man, who is currently in his 40’s, travels to a distant town at the far end of the desert. There, he finds a person who works for the Ministry of Culture and sees himself fighting both for his rights and for the life of his mother.

The film is part of the official 2021 selection for the Festival of Cannes. It shows breathtaking landscapes from the Israeli desert.

4. Plan A

This fantastic movie based on a true story counts with the fascinating performance of Michael Aloni, the lead actor in the praiseworthy series Shtisel.

This movie talks about a group of Holocaust survivors, who in 1945, conspired to poison Germany’s water supply. This was called the “Plan A,” a risky and daring covert mission that the films portray in a catchy, magical, and evolving way.
