Flirting in Israel: Some Hebrew words to flirt effectively

First of all, we must warn you: Israelis are very, very flirty. You’ll feel like the most good-looking person in the world after interacting with the classic Israeli. Although Israeli men are much flirtier than Israeli women, all of them give you the kind of looks you won’t easily forget.

Here we present a list of Hebrew words for you to use to flirt… or most likely, to flirt back. You already know what the typical Israeli is like.

1. Date: Important word, isn’t it? If you want to ask someone out on a date, you should know how to say it. Date in Hebrew is דייט, and guess how do you pronounce it? Indeed! It is pronounced exactly same way as you say it in English: Date. 2. “You look good”: It is a nice thing to say when your date arrives, right? Well, this sentence is a little tricky because its pronunciation will depend on if you are saying it to a woman or a man. “You look good” in Hebrew, and for a man is אתה נראה טוב (pronounced: atah neer-ah tov), and for a woman is טוב נראת את (pronounced: at neer-et tov). Make sure to say it at the very beginning (only if you think it is true! We are not forcing you to lie here); Israelis, like everyone else, like to receive compliments.
3. “I want to go out again”: So your דייט went well? That is סבבה! If you’d like to see that person again you should just say it. “I want to go out again” in Hebrew is אני אשמח לראות איתך שוב

which means, literally, ‘I’d be happy to see you again’. It is pronounced “Anee esmach lirot otach shuv”, and if you are saying it to man, just change the “otach” for a very simple “otcha”.

4. Eyes: If you want to compliment your companion’s eyes, you should at least know how to say “eyes” in Hebrew. Eyes in Hebrew is עיניים (pronounced: ey-nah-eem). You can always add a nice adjective to this word so you make the person sitting in front of you feel just amazing. Be careful with the adjective you pick! You don’t want to hurt anyone, right?
5.  Funny: If you are having a great time and you cannot stop laughing, you might want to tell your companion how funny she/he is. Funny in Hebrew is מצחיק/ה (pronounced muts-heek or must-heek-ah). And let’s be honest, we all like to hear how funny we are. Come on! Compliment the person you just met by telling how מצחיק they are.
6.  Phone number: So you want to get someone’s phone number? But do you know how to ask for it? Phone number in Hebrew is מספר טלפון (pronounced mees-par teh-leh-phon), and we are sure you’ll get it if you are מצחיק/ה You can do it!
7. “No, thank you!”: You don’t like the flirty person in front of you? Don’t worry! Just smile and say -assertively- “לא, תודה” (pronounced: loh toh-dah). This means “No, thank you”. In some cases, you might have to repeat it a number of times, especially if that flirty person is an israeli… But at some point or another, they will get it.
